Are You Searching

Are you searching issues of faith?

Do you have wounds in need of healing?

Has the focus of your life become blurred?

Is "Church" just something you used to do?

If so, know that you are not alone. So many people wrestle with questions of what to believe and how to live. People seek healing in many different ways, but often realize that their life is not the way "it's supposed to be" and don't know what to do about it. For many people, the Church is something they tried a long time ago and then left it behind. Some have had a bad experience and have "written off" ever going again. We'd like to give you a fresh invitation.

We don't pretend at the Church of the Redeemer to be able to answer every question, but... we do know where those questions can be directed and where answers can be found. We know the source of deep and true healing. And we know the way to address "blurriness" and disorientations. The answer, source, and way are one and the same: Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of the Living God.

"I am the way, the truth, and the life." John 14:6

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you." John 14:27

"Ask and you will receive; and your joy will be complete." John 16:24

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

These are just a few glimpses from the Gospels (the first four books of the New Testament). If you have access to a Bible you can read much more of what Jesus said (such as Matthew, Chapter 6 or John, Chapter 3 for starters.) If you do not have a Bible, stop by Redeemer-- we will give you one with "no strings attached."

At the Church of the Redeemer we hope for each person to come to know God in ways that are authentic and personal. This, God has promised, happens by way of Jesus Christ. And this can happen in any setting where the truth of Jesus Christ is being read or heard or prayed and where that truth is accepted as being real and personal. It can even happen online. It is what is called "being saved." We don't do it - God does. We don't earn it, we're given it.

It doesn't happen by any other way than asking Jesus to enter into your life. Here is the promise:

"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified ("made right" before God), and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." - Romans 10:9,10

In the last book of the Bible, using images of coming to the door of your home (as in the "door" to your life) and coming in to eat with you (as in a person coming to share a meal and build a relationship with you) Jesus also said:

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with them and they with me." - Revelation 3:20

There is so much more to find out. So we hope that you'll come to Redeemer to find out more. We won't be pushy and box you into a corner. Simply come, be welcomed, join us in worship, and, if you wish, stay for refreshments following worship.  You can also, feel free to talk with our pastor, Rev. Paul Meador by giving a call (301-262-7888) or stopping by the church offices.

In any case, know that you have a wide-open welcome both to join us and to come to know Jesus Christ. So, come. Consider yourself freshly invited.
